Aircraft Dispatch Course
This training program is designed to immerse participants in the dispatcher curriculum. Completing the training program and acquiring an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate license enables participants to:
- Coordinate and plan flights according to government regulations to expedite and ensure flight safety.
- Coordinate with pilots by speaking their language and understanding the economics, passenger services and day-to-day flight operations requirements of a flight.
- Evaluate meteorological information to identify potential hazards to flight safety and select the most desirable and economic route of flight.
- Calculate fuel requirements to safely conduct aircraft operations according to aircraft type, distance of flight, maintenance limitations, weather conditions and minimum fuel requirements prescribed by federal aviation regulations.
- Prepare flight plans containing information such as maximum allowable takeoff and landing weights, weather reports, field conditions, NOTAMS and many other informational components required for flight safety.
- Read and understand the aeronautical navigation charts used to plan and identify the most economic routes and provide flight following to maximize safety of flight.
- Brief the pilot in command of significant changes to weather or flight plans and recommend flight plan alternatives such as changing course, altitude, and if required, en-route landings to maximize safety and economy.
Upon completion of the training course, students will understand the importance of teamwork and disseminating flight information to everyone involved with the flight.
